Coast to Coast
St Bees to Robin Hood's Bay
Sandra Bardwell

published 2018 • 5 3/4" x 8 1/4" • 126 pages • full-color photos • maps
ISBN 9781898481829 • paperback/waterproof • $19.95

The Coast to Coast walk runts for 184 miles (296 km) through the finest scenery in northern England. Its end points, the lovely villages of St Bees on the Irish Sea and Robin Hood's Bay on the North Sea are both accessible by public transport. The whole walk takes most people from 12-16 days, and can readily be completed in two separate weeks.

Devised by the legendary Alfred Wainwright, the route passes through three national parks—the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors—areas rich in history, heritage, and wildlife. There are welcoming pubs and plenty of walker friendly accommodation on or near the route.

This guidbook contains all that a walker needs:
• concise directions, updated in 2018
• easy-to-follow maps of the route (scale 1:55,000)
• altitude profiles for each section
• major route options described and mapped
• background on geology, history, and wildlife
• contact details for accommodation and transport
• features on St Bees, Grasmere, Richmond, and Robin Hood's Bay
• 150 enticing colour photos
• rainproof, backpack-friendly format
