Set in Istanbul, this novel tells the story of Meral, a modern-day Turkish woman searching for identity and renewal after leaving her husband of 11 years. Living among the dusty artifacts in the deserted rooms of her deceased mother's house, Meral discovers the diary her mother began as a young girl, and begins a complicated process of self-redefinition, especially after realizing for the first time her part-Armenian heritage.
