The Traveller's Wine Guides

Illustrated with specially commissioned photographs (wine usually seems to be made in attractive surroundings) as well as maps, the books in this series describe the wine-producing regions of each country. The authors recommend itineraries, list wineries, describe the local cuisines, suggest wine bars and restaurants, and provide a mass of practical information -- much of which is not readily available elsewhere

Each title includes:

• Itineraries and maps
• Local gastronomic specialties
• Hundreds of visitor-friendly wineries
• Descriptions of local and regional wines
• Museums and sightseeing points
• Lists of wine festivals and exhibitions
• Restaurants, hotels and wine stores
• Reference section and glossary

Media Reviews

"...a boon to travellers and wine lovers alike...an astonishing amount of practical advice, historical and architectural information, an easy-to-read breakdown of every wine area in their chosen countries... These books are sure to inspire holiday makers to set off in new directions..."
-- Decanter Magazine

"Each offers invaluable information...clear, colorful maps, driving times from major cities, descriptions of the regions and their wines, short and lengthy itineraries and times and places for local wine festivals. There are sections on food specialities to go with a region's best wines. Most important, perhaps, the guides provide names, addresses, telephone and fax numbers of wine producers who speak English and who welcome guests to their cellars."
--Frank Prial, Wine Talk,
The New York Times

"...a series to be welcomed."
-- Harpers: The Wine and Spirit Weekly
(UK)

"...a fascinating introduction to France's wine regions and vineyards..."
-- The International Cookbook Revue

"Any visit to Germany will be enormously enhanced by reading Kerry Stewart's meticulously researched A Traveller's Wine Guide to Germany."
-- The International Cookbook Revue

"Each author takes the reader on a personal tour of their country, talking about the wines, the routes to get from one wine town to another, local sights of interest, gastronomic specialties and more. Numerous color maps and photos help to make these books easy to use."
-- San Francisco Chronicle
